Mrs. Helen believes that wisdom is best shared over a warm cup of tea. Throughout The Pearl Collection, she gently reminds us that life is less about perfection and more about faith, perseverance, and discovering the treasures God has placed within us.
From the Author's Desk
Dear Reader,
I didn't set out to write a novel. I set out to make sense of a feeling — the quiet one so many women carry beneath the surface, the sense that our most valuable years might already be behind us.
The Pearl began as a whisper I couldn't ignore. I kept thinking about the women who poured themselves out for everyone else and yet wondered, in the stillness, if anything of their own was being formed.
I wrote it for the woman who has been pressed, hidden, and overlooked — to remind her that the very pressure that seemed to bury her was forming something rare and enduring. A treasure that the tide would one day reveal.
This story is my offering of faith that nothing is wasted, of perseverance that refuses to stay hidden, and of the conviction that the treasures God placed within us are waiting to be discovered — not in spite of the storm, but because of it.
May The Pearl meet you wherever you are, and remind you that your becoming has always been in motion.
Dedication
For every woman who believed her greatest days had passed.
For every dream interrupted by disappointment.
For every heart that has carried invisible burdens while continuing to serve others.
May you discover that the greatest treasures are not found by avoiding life's storms, but by allowing them to reveal who you were always meant to be.
With love and perseverance,
Yetta Johnson
